When I’m processing emotions, it helps to focus on my special interests. So when the sky is falling, there’s nothing like studying something I know next to nothing about, yet I find unbearably interesting, like quantum physics.
By focusing on science, I can zoom out of my body, away from my family anxieties, and into the stars, where I can release stress and depression from my body as I take in the world more objectively.
I can escape the toxic way of viewing the universe that often plagues me, that I also know plagues my aunt and my mother, that I wish we could all make go away.
Here are some of my ideas for quantum emotional escape pods.
Listing 😍 Quantum History
I was watching this video again:
@8:10, I thought it’d be fun to make a collection of ink drawings representing a timeline in frames for the recent history of quantum science:
- IBM announces their 50-qubit chip
- Intel releases a 48-qubit chip
- Microsoft releases a quantum programming languageI wonder how hard it would be to learn this… I’ve only ever programmed in Pascal, HTML, CSS, and whatever network stuff we used at ATLUS Online.
- Just recently, Google announced the Bristlecone, a 72-qubit chip
I also need to read more about John Preskill and Noisy Intermediate Stage Quantum (NISQ); but that’s why I planned for all those Brilliant.org lessons for April, awwyeah.
In My Life Today 🤤 Upside-down Pineapple Cake
Chase just created his fourth upside-down pineapple cake, this time with half diabetes-inducing sugar, and half coconut sugar. It was delicious. I will remember it on my deathbed.
Listing 🦑 Other Quantum Questions
Will quantum mechanics be limited to sentient, or consciousness emergent, artificial intelligence? Or will quantum mechanics be available to all technologies? How much schooling will it take to work with quantum mechanics? What kind of virtual reality specific technologies will become possible?
