necessary photography

rusty watering can sitting on moss

i never would’ve pursued a career as a product photographer, yet i enjoy taking pictures of the resin art Chase and i make together, if for no other reason than to keep a document of shared creativity

when i step back from the joy, i see that it’s necessary photography, at least if we want to sell crafts online, so it’s possible my brain created a pleasure highway to tolerate this thing i need to do, yet wouldn’t normally do, except for filling the water-can to tend the dream-garden, to pursue the dream to live via a sustainable art practice

i wonder how often our brain transforms necessary [anything] into a miserable highway, in order to push us away from the experiences that poison our little gardens
